Plagiarism is a real concern in academic writing, and detection of plagiarized material – whether overt or inadvertent – is a key focus for the operations team at SBP Journal. Since late 2012 we have been using the CrossCheck plagiarism detection program to screen all manuscripts prior to acceptance. CrossCheck, a joint initiative by iThenticate and CrossRef, functions as a database comprising content from nearly 80,000 (as of July 2014) journals, and allows us to address any areas of concern.
