The purpose in the present study was to examine the dimensions common and specific to 16 measures dealing with attitudes toward and experiences of time so that further insight might be gained regarding their psychological meaning. Scores for 76 participants from 4 inventories were submitted to a principal
components analysis. Six factors were rotated to a varimax solution. A factor, expected on the basis of the notions underlying 5 of the measures, clearly emerged. Two other factors shared variance with scores derived from at least 2 inventories, and the remaining 3 factors were unique to one inventory. Factors were discussed in terms of their psychological meaning and a possible artifact of one inventory.
