Homan's theory of distributive justice especially when unjustifiable inequity exists was applied to study experimentally the productivity of men in groups. The results are interpreted as supporting Homan's proposition in that productivity decreased when members suffer from inequity but productivity increased when inquiry puts them at an advantage.
